The author, Dr. Michael J. Hurdzan, is one of America's most respected golf course designers in the industry. His firm is located in Columbus, OH and is responsible for designing over 150 new courses not only in North America, but internationally as well. It should be noted that Dr. Hurdzan is also author of the well-known monograph 'Evolution of the Modern Green.' In 1996 he decided it was time to put some of his trade secrets and unique strategy that has brought his firm great success over the years to paper. Aside from designing, Dr. Michael J. Hurdzan spent 23 years in command of the Special Forces, Infantry and Psychological Operations units in the United States Army Special Reserve program.
