Tiger Woods Victory Gold Plated TE13 Newport Putter Won in 1998 for the Bellsouth Classic w/COA

The 'famous' Scotty Cameron Newport TeI3 putter that Tiger Woods sent shockwaves through the golf community during his 1997 Masters win would be inserted back into the bag in early 1998 for his almost unbelievable lone win of campaign, at the Bellsouth on May 10, 1998. Tiger's trusty Scotty Cameron Newport TeI3 putter by Titleist, with a Teryllium face insert and five rows of sound-dampering white dots in the backside cavity, got the job done at the Bellsouth Classic with individual round scores of 69-67-63-72=271 and Woods' tournament total of 271. The gold plated victory putter to match these specifications is proudly presented here with the face engraving with black paintfill '1998 Champion - Bellsouth Classic - Tiger Woods.'

With less than a decade of retail of production for his company, Scotty Cameron was already cementing his name among the great putter makers. The practice of awarding a gold-plated putter was again put into play rewarding Woods' memorable victory, this time by the newest industry giant and it's future - state-of-the-art putter maker Scotty Cameron. Karsten Solheim started giving out gold-plated putters in the 1970's that were built to the exact specs of the winner's model, with Cameron following suit in a passing of the torch of sorts. Scotty Cameron collectors are likely aware of the production of these putters, with very few acquisition opportunities until now. Here is perhaps the finest of its kind, a Tiger Woods Victory Gold Scotty Cameron putter for the 1998 Bellsouth Classic. This putter is in phenomenal condition, as depicting in the accompanying lot photos, and it is accompanied by the coveted Scotty Cameron Certificate of Authenticity with the verbiage 'Victory Gold Plated TEI3 Newport, won by Tiger Woods in 1998.' 34"
