Bobby Jones 'Grantland Rice's Roll Call of Champions' Advertising Blotter
A beautiful color photo of Bobby Jones at the finish of his swing appears on this 1956 advertising blotter. The top of the blotter is titled “Grantland Rice’s Roll Call of Champions.” Grantland Rice was one of the premier sports writers of his time and he covered Bobby Jones both early and late in Jones’ career. Created by Brown and Bigelow, St. Paul Minn. and measures 9” x 3 7/8” Under the photo of Jones is a quote from Rice: “ I followed Bobby Jones a long time before he finally found the rainbow – the Open in ’23. Then followed years of supremacy, bringing him every title the game could offer.” A unique and uncommon Bobby Jones item that would make a nice addition to any Bobby Jones collection!
