1930 Time Magazine Bobby Jones Cover Only - September
Very seldom do athletes ever grace the cover of Time Magazine by themselves. In the year 1930 some of the news makers pictured on the cover were Queen Mary, Al Capone, Herbert Hoover, The Duchess of York and oh yes on the September 22nd, 1930 issue Bobby Jones. It was only the second time a male golfer had made the sought after cover of this weekly in the seven years of printing since 1923 (yes, the first and only other to that time was Jones, himself in 1925). Here is the cover only of that iconic issue, with a stamp on the bottom right side. Please inspect the accompanying lot photos for a detailed condition report.
