The 1999 Ryder Cup at The Country Club at Brookline is known as the "The Battle of Brookline" and the most celebrated and unlikely United States Ryder Cup victory in recent memory. Justin Leonard drained a 45 foot putt to win the Ryder Cup for the Americans, overcoming the seemingly insurmountable deficit that the Europeans had worked so hard to achieve.
