O’Hara, Dial Co. Golfer Stein With Porcelain Lid Of A Native American
The O’Hara, Dial Co was originally a watch dial maker. Due to a business decline at the turn of the century they branched out and purchased standard decorated stein bodies from the Ceramic Arts Co/Lenox complete with the O'Hara Dial ""fleur-de-lis"" base mark, and fitted pewter lids by Manning Bowman & Co.
Here we have one of those steins. It stands approximately 4 ½ “ tall. The golfing figure is said to be modeled after Horace Hutchinson. Images of Horace Hutchinson that originally appeared in The Badminton Library of Sports and Pastimes were used as source material for a series of golf related steins made by the Ceramic Art Company and The O’Hara, Dial Co.
This stein displays well with other similar steins and is unique with the beautiful porcelain lid depiction of a Native American Indian.
