1920 Minnesota Golf Assoc. Northland CC State Amateur Championship Sterling Silver Trophy
The Minnesota State Amateur Championship in 1920 was won by Harry Legg of the Minikahda Club. He beat Dudley Mudge 6&5.
This trophy was awarded to the winner of the third flight.
The Northland Country Club was founded in 1899.
in 1921, Donald Ross was hired to lay out a completely new course. It was finished in 1927, and, with a few modifications, is the same course played today.
This elegant 1 ½ pint two handled trophy stands approx. 5’’tall. It weighs 12.4 oz and stamped “sterling” and appears to also have the Gorham letter “G” also stamped on the bottom.
Overall, a great Minnesota golf history trophy from a famous club with a course designed by Donald Ross.
