1927 Western Open Championship At Olympia Fields Press Badge - Hagen Win
Although undated, this Press badge is from the 1927 Western Open, as that Walter Hagen victory concluded on ended on September 10th (1920 and 1933 ended nearly a week prior 9/6 and 9/4). Olympia Fields just outside of Chicago hosted only those three Western Opens prior to again being the chosen venue in 1968, which ended a month prior (August 4). This Press badge remains in very good condition, without a name added to it and likely unused and saved. Walter Hagen would defend his title, then considered by many (including the Press) a major championship and yielding the greatest champions.
