Jack Nicklaus Signed 1971 Barratt & Co. Ltd Rookie Card Auto Auth EX-MT 6

A search in the PSA registry reveals what we had assumed for this rare UK card signed by the Golden Bear across the center - a population of just 14 with only 4 higher! There are less signed examples of Jack's first cards in the PSA database than Jack major victories, which total 18; or 20 if you count his two US Amateurs like he does.

To the high-end golf card collectors' delight, showcased here is that Jack Nicklaus signed iconic 1971 Barratt & Co. rookie card boasting an Excellent-Mint 6 card with the robust authentic black sharpie autograph! This golf card category staple's photography features a framed, full-length time-period shot of Nicklaus post-swing surrounded by an interested gallery.

Out of the 'Famous Sportsman' Barratt & Co. Ltd series covering all of sport would be Jack Nicklaus' FIRST card, predating the high print run of Jack's 1981 Donruss Card by 10 years. Needless to say it is significantly harder to come by. The relatively narrow white border inaugural entrant from 18-time major champion depicts the yellow sweater-clad Nicklaus following through. Nicklaus was able to start and stop his signature without running off the edge, a common signature grade detractor for this modest shape. PSA examination judged this London, England example of the tough card favorably, issuing a 6 Nr Mint card grade and authentic signature (would likely grade high itself if a number was put on it) printed on the topper of this piece of art encapsulated for presentation and preservation. The investment grade card runs in the four digits unsigned (!) - and for the first card of a gentleman that won the most major championships of all-time a bargain. Signed examples command a multiplier, with this a clean, preferred example of Jack's first hobby entry that the 18-time major champion one of the finest 9 in existence! PSA has encapsulated this card for valuation, preservation and presentation #95223871.
