Par 3 Course Architect George Cobb Signed 1959 Statement To Bobby Jones About Augusta National Golf Club
Addressed to Robert T Jones Jr., Augusta National Golf Club Co-founder, George Cobb details Course Architect ANGC hole renderings that Jones commissioned Cobb to do just prior to the 1959 Masters for the club's "reproduction purpose." The final hole of Amen Corner, #13 'Azalea' and 10 are holes that took a purported 29 hours for preliminary sketches - both on this invoice statment.
Augusta National had experiences property changes on holes over last several years and utility installations such as water, power, television and telephone cables, gas, etc and new drawings from the course designer were required. This letter was typed and signed by George W. Cobb on his personal letterhead to Jones the year after Cobb designed the Par 3 Course on Augusta National Golf Club grounds. This financial statement totaled up to $386.59. From the ANGC Par 3 Course designer to the great Bobby Jones is this document in regards to course drawings on his personal letterhead out of his Greenville, South Carolina office dated March 24, 1959 concluded with a flowing, blue ballpoint pen signature.
