Lawson Little Signed & Inscribed 1959 Post Card
"Warmest Personal Regards and Sincere Best Wishes, Golfingly Yours, Lawson Little" was signed and inscribed in 1959 to a fan sharing his initials named Larry Landry Jr. on this postcard. Postcards were the first "through the mail" or TTM signatures, often youngsters simply requesting the signature on the opposite side of a self addressed postcard.
Over the 1934 and 1935 amateur campaigns Lawson Little was as dominant as any single pure golfer in the history of the game; and yes that includes Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in the conversation. Little would capture both the U.S. and British Amateur titles in 1934, and to put an explanation point on his superior play he repeated the feat in 1935 capturing both amateur titles again. Over this stretch he would win 32 consecutive matches in the two events. This dominance which was not previously accomplished, and is most likely to never be seen again earned Little the title for his feat of the "Little Slam".
