Jack Nicklaus Signed 16x20 St Andrews Swilken Bridge Open Farewell Canvas
The iconic shot of three-time Open champion (twice at St Andrews) Jack Nicklaus thanking the gallery at the 2005 Open Championship at the apex of Swilken Bridge during his final Open championship walk across as a competitor is detailed on this signed oversize 16x20" canvas in robust black sharpie. The passing of the torch happened in each of the four majors, a pair in 2000 and the others in 2005. Nicklaus would announce his final round of competition and Tiger Woods would win the tournament - with the 2005 Open Championship Jack's last, also his final round of major championship golf. Nicklaus waved goodbye donning his red sweater vest and a sincere grin of appreciation in the foreground of the towering R&A clubhouse. Poised for both bidding action and framing is this lot just in time to crown a new Champion Golfer of the Year.
