Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Tournament Ordinary Ticket No. 1853 - Likely 1952 Open Championship
The front of this ticket, with original string, reads “Golf Tournament, ORDINARY, ADMISSION TO COURSE ONLY, Charge 7/6 (inclusive of tax), available on Day of Issue only It has a hole (part of original design) and is ticket No. 1853. No specific date appears on the front of the ticket. Written in ink on the rear is” Lytham St Annes". The ticket markings are entirely consistent with a 1953 Open ticket we sold in July 2019. Gilchrest lists the 1952 ticket as “Unknown” The 1952 Open championship was won by Bobby Locke at Royal Lytham.
