Michael Jordan Signed The President's Cup USA Team Worn Flag Hat w/ Pink Ribbon
After years of dominating on the hardwood, Michael Jordan's competitive spirit was channeled into helping his country on his second favorite venue - the golf course. A mainstay in United States Ryder Cup team huddles since 1999, famously captured with Payne Stewart then, Jordan was asked by Captain Fred Couples to be an official Assistant Captain at the 2009 President's Cup at Harding Park. That is precisely where this Team USA-specific embroidered flag hat was worn (by a member of the squad) and afterwards single-signed by 'His Airness' in black sharpie across the width of the brim. Along with the embroidered flag on this hat's backside, above the adjustable velcro strap, there is a pink ribbon pinned to the side. That ribbon was passed out the the victorious United States team for breast cancer awareness and in support of Amy Mickelson who would go on to defeat it. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
