Tiger Woods 2009 US Open at Bethpage Black Official Tournament Score Sheet

Tiger Woods does not read the "Warning" sign at Bethpage black. The Big Cat did however return as a past champion at the venue and in US Open defense when it hosted the 2009 US Open. It would result in another top-10 finish at t-6 and after the four rounds were complete, Woods' colorful tournament-used scoreboard in the PGA Tour Scorer's artful handwritten calligraphy would be one of if not the top item auctioned off to generate funds for the Metropolitan Golf Association Foundation. The letter accompanying this verso inventory stickered scoreboard came with it and is titled 'Dear Auction Winner:' from the association's Executive Director Jay Mottola.

At most formal golf tournaments, amateur and professional, there is a master scoreboard with every player's name and their scores posted hole-by-hole. The scores are either written by hand or pasted in either in real time or after rounds are completed. These sheets are known as "score sheets" and they are usually immediately discarded after a tournament is completed. Here we offer the historic official score sheet from all four rounds of Jim Colbert and his meltdown on 18 from the master scoreboard in the Media Center maintained by the USGA for each player. They show the individual scores for all seventy-two holes. This remains in very presentable, nearly flawless condition as it was rolled up and stored since its usage at the tournement 15 years ago. The MGA letter of provenance from the auction comes with this lot. 47" x 9 1/2"
