Walter Hagen Beats Bobby Jones 1926 Match of the Century Type 1 Photo PSA #85011150
Receiving the highly coveted PSA Type I ruling is this full-body shot of a confident Walter Hagen posing post-swing moments before destroying Bobby Jones in what was thought to be a tight 'Match of the Century' in 1926. This black and white crystal clear News Service photo shows the man with shined shoes that famously said 'I don't want to be a millionaire, I just want to live like one." And play like one, which is what he did squaring off against Jones and besting him 8 up and 7 to play. The verso of this photo shows the corresponding caption remaining intact, media stamp and a handwritten industry specific notation. This is encapsulated for presentation, preservation and of course valuation.
