Snoopy & Woodstock Prototype Full Size Golf Bag for Peanuts Creator Charles Schultz

Safe to say you have never seen this bag before, and neither had we. It was a prototype produced for Charles Schultz for a product design that for whatever reason did not get approval for mass production, creating the one-of-one Peanuts golf bag here. After Schultz decided to go a different direction, the casual golfer presented it to a competitive ice skater in his annual Christmas show, whom he had gotten to know over the years, for her father - a more avid golfer. 'Snoopy Golf!' titles this Snoopy and Woodstock embroidered color wrap around golf scene adorning club bag. Along the bottom reads "I have a new philosophy...life is like a golf course - and a sand trap runs through it." Snoopy is depicted in a grey gambler hat with a matching outfit and shades, following through while his ball lays in the sand on the other side of the bag. This remains in good condition, with slight signs of usage.

Creator of Peanuts cartoon, Schulz published a remarkable 17,897 strips over 50 years. The late comic writer saw Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy and their friends translated in 21 languages and distributed in 75 countries.
