Bob Hope Signed Letter To Gene Sarazen About Receiving The Pga Distinguished Service Award - Sarazen Collection
Here is the humorous, but heartfelt letter from Bob Hope to Gene Sarazen in congratulations of Sarazen's PGA of America Distinguished Service Award reception in 1992 in only a way the comedian could author it. It reads as follows: "Dear Gene, It's about time that a World Champion receive the PGA's Distinguished Service Award. I can think of no other individual more deserving of the honor. Some of us talk about golf, write about golf and play at golf. Gene, you ARE golf. - The sports world knows you invented the sand wedge, but, you've been around so long that some of us think you invented sand. - By your life, the mastering of the sport and your accomplishments, you have been an inspiration to us all - platers and non-players of the game. You not only enhanced the image of the Professional Golfer by the game itself. Congratulations, Gene - Signed Bob (Hope) ." It is tastefully matted and framed to measure 15 1/2 x 11 1/2." A signed letter of provenance from Mary Ann Sarazen will come with this lot.

3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS at the time of auction close will close at 10pm ET
