Gene Sarazen Signed & Inscribed 1939 Photo 1939 - Framed
This photo was signed and inscribed by Gene Sarazen in 1939. The fountain pen ink inscription reads: “To Stuart Cameron long live our memories of abroad Gene Sarazen 1939.”
Stuart Cameron was a sports editor For United Press International and no doubt traveled with Sarazen to championships outside the US.
In the photo Sarazen is holding the Open Championship Claret Jug and the original US Open Championship trophy. Sarazen won both major tournaments in 1932 and the photo likely portrays him from that year. There are only six golfers with more major victories than Sarazen’s seven. 15" X 18"
