Tiger Woods & Team USA Signed 2001 Ryder Cup Team Poster - Postponed Event


Signed by Tiger Woods (flawless and clean with no overlap), Phil Mickelson, Scott Verplank, Davis Love, Captain Curtis Strange, Paul Azinger, Scott Hoch, Stewart Cink, Jim Furyk, Hal Sutton, Mark Calcavecchia, David Toms, and David Duval to complete the United States Team is this Team poster from the significant 2001 playing of the Ryder Cup. Each was performed in close proximity to their depiction, presenting in varying degrees of strength. The Ryder Cup was originally scheduled to be played from September 28-30, 2001, but was postponed one year due to the attacks of the World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11, 2001. While the tournament was already scheduled to be played on British soil, at the Brabazon Course at The Belfry in Wishaw, Warwickshire, the PGA of America informed the European Ryder Cup Board that considering the tragedies that took place on September 11, the American team would not attend the matches. Both sides agreed to push the Ryder Cup back one year, with the same captains and players participating in 2002. The European team won the 2002 Ryder Cup by a score of 15.5-12.5. 39 x 31." James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot. A Letter of Provenance from Will Mann will accompany this lot.

Will Mann Collection - Past PGA President

The 31st PGA of America President (1999-2000), Will Mann, currently teaches PGA Golf Management at Coastal Carolina University imparting his knowledge and experience on the next generation of golfers. Mann served as a golf course superintendent, director golf and course owner after earning a bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University. Mann was a member of PGA's Policies and Procedures Committee, Membership Committee and Membership Steering Committee. It is our distinct honor to offer his collection that he has built through working with the PGA of America and having a successful career in golf.
