Jack Nicklaus Signed Typed Letter to Past PGA President, and Chairman of the PGA Championship at that time, Will Mann - 6/1/2001
At the conclusion of the letter to PGA President Will Mann Jack Nicklaus wasn't done. "P.S. I understand that next year is is possible the PGA Srs. would be opposite the Memorial Tournament. Please don't let that happen - Jack." When the Golden Bear asks for something you grant his wish. The 2002 Memorial would end on May 26, with the Senior PGA Championship June 9th. Good Move. Additional content from this 6/7/2001 letter twice signed by Jack Nicklaus includes that he wished he could have been more of a factor in the 2001 Senior PGA Championship and his appreciation of how the tournament was conducted. Will Mann Collection - Past PGA President
The 31st PGA of America President (1999-2000), Will Mann, currently teaches PGA Golf Management at Coastal Carolina University imparting his knowledge and experience on the next generation of golfers. Mann served as a golf course superintendent, director golf and course owner after earning a bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University. Mann was a member of PGA's Policies and Procedures Committee, Membership Committee and Membership Steering Committee. It is our distinct honor to offer his collection that he has built through working with the PGA of America and having a successful career in golf.
