1967 The Ryder Cup at Champions Golf Club Dinner Menu
Here is a menu from the 1967 Ryder Cup welcome dinner held at The Champions Club in Texas two days competition getting underway. Both teams were in attendance, along with members from the 40th anniversary inaugural US team of 1927 which included Walter Hagen and Gene Sarazen. The tournament saw the U.S. defend home soil and win by the record score of 23 1/2 to 8 1/2 points. The United States team under Ben Hogan's tutelage included Arnold Palmer, Julius Boros, Billy Casper, Gene Littler, Gay Brewer, Al Geiberger, Bobby Nichols, Johnny Pott, Gardner Dickinson and Doug Sanders. The honored guests dined on smoked salmon, wild rice timbale, and finished it off with wither fresh apple or camembert and bel paese cheeses. The black cover with gold-tone Ryder Cup trophy maintains its original gold-tone tassel and remains as a top-grade exemplar free from blemishing.
