Walter Hagen Signed & Inscribed 1956 'The Walter Hagen Story' 1st Ed Book to Warren Orlick
Walter Hagen was the first giant of American golf, who captured 11 Majors and helped raise professional golf to never previously seen levels. Mr. Hagen meticulously penned a beautiful blue ink signature on the flyleaf of this hardcover copy of 'The Walter Hagen Story'. Personalized to Warren Orlick, a past PGA President known as "Mr. Rules". In 1955, he was named the first chairman of the PGA of America’s Rules of Golf Committee. He served as a rules official for several major championships for over three decades, including the Masters, the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup. He served as President of the Michigan PGA from 1956 to 1958. In 1960, he won the PGA Golf Professional of the Year Award and was twice named the Michigan PGA Golf Professional of the Year. Orlick became the President of the PGA of America in 1971-72, during which time he developed the PGA Apprentice and PGA Master Profess. A First Edition published in 1956 by Simon and Shuster of New York City, the 342-page tome was a memoir on his golfing career and an essay on the evolution of the professional golfer.
