1923 Golf De Monte-Carlo Saison 1921-22 Bogey Competition Szirmai Large Bronze Medal
This front of this high-grade oversize medal features a beautiful depiction of a woman in flowing dress with golf club at the top her backswing. Great detail including showing the bow on the woman’s blouse. The inscription on the plaque/sign on the front of the medal medal reads “Bogey, Feb 1st , 1923. A Bogey competition is a form of stroke competition in which play is against a fixed score at each hole of the stipulated round or rounds. The rear of the medal features a finely detailed depiction of the Monte Carlo Princes palace and is stamped “ Saison 1921-22. This bronze medal was expertly crafted by the Hungarian artist and painter Antal Szirmai and bears his stamp on both the front and rear of the medal. The diameter measures 2 1/2."
