Peter Butler's 1969 Ryder Cup Matches at Royal Birkdale Pin No. 35
From Peter Butler, the famous Great Britain Ryder Cup player, comes this 1969 Ryder Cup pin (pin removed) given to contestants or contestant’s wives in the event that year. Gold embossed on a rose colored circular pattern for serious eye appealing qualities. A seldom seen Ryder Cup treasure. Peter Butler played in four Ryder Cup matches between 1965 and 1973, including 1969. It appears part of the name tag was removed, possibly the prefix “Mr.” or “Mrs.” so in theory this was Peter’s personal tag or that of his wife - we do not know for sure.
