Presented here is a fantastic Henry Cotton Archie Compston Exhibition Match ticket from August, 1939. It has been said and well documented that Cotton’s charity of choice during the war efforts was The Red Cross. He began fundraising for the Red Cross in August 1939 when he played against Archie Compston at Mid-Surrey Golf Club. Prior to the match, Cotton had sought to raise £1,000 in 1939. This match and others he played raised nearly £6,000 by the end of 1939. Ticket is clean with scrapbook removal issue on the reverse. Historically important ticket.
