US Rubber Company Royal Golf Ball Weekly News Advertisement Poster w/Sarazen on Cover
Celebrating the young Gene Sarazen's Southern Open win in 1922, The United States Rubber Company Weekly Golf News dedicated a page to his posed post-swing shot along with the corresponding caption. Even bidder things were coming for the then major-less Sarazen, as he would win the 1922 US Open to get it all started. The head pro at Highland Country Club of Pittsburgh depicted with detail here on this oversize 14 x 17" cover, just above the 'US Royal' dimple ball in-color ad boasting the new price of 75 cents. This 'oddball' cover, speaking on its rarity and not strange nature, is a very early one of the first modern Grand Slam Champion.
