1914 GOLF '20th Anniversary Number' Magazine - September - Vol XXXV No. 3
If this 1914 magazine looks familiar, but you can't remember where you saw it we will help you out. In our 2022 December Auction we offered the 1915 Open Championship "program" with this same golf scene illustration. 'Golf' printed 'programs' by the request and leadership of the U.S.G.A. with the time-period artwork of a golfer post-swing with two onlookers in the foreground and the clubhouse in the background seen here. It was a fascinating angle for historians or those with like interests, only furthering the already insurmountable intrigue for this lot. That artwork for the realized $5,647 was perhaps debuted for this 'GOLF issue' in 1914. It remains in good condition, please inspect the accompanying lot photos for a detailed condition report or, better yet, for the artwork appreciation.
