Offered here is Bill Davis' contestants identification piece for the 23rd Los Angeles Open contested in 1949 at the historic Riviera C.C. Reverse of this badge from the collection of 1940's and 50's PGA professional is engraved CONTESTANT. The real story of the event was Lloyd Mangrum who won the first of his record tying four Los Angeles Opens. A Hall of Fame champion in Mangrum in '49 combined with one of the country's most famous courses in Riviera makes this 1 1/4 diameter artifact of 1940's PGA Tour golf a treasure to be owned.
