1953 Open Championship at Carnoustie Monday & Tuesday Official Program & Draw - Hogan Win
Originally available for purchase at Ben Hogan's 1953 Open Championship victory at Carnoustie was this 'Official Programme & Draw' - prized ephemera and the third and final major leg of the calendar year golf will never forget.
In 1953, before the largest gallery in Open history, Ben Hogan's Sunday round 68 was a new single round course record at Carnoustie. His 72 hole score of 282 was also the lowest score in the history of the Open Championship. There was nothing stopping him, as Hogan had claimed his third straight Major title of the year. He returned to the States for a New York ticker tape parade which was followed by a similar parade in his hometown of Fort Worth on Monday July 27th. Included in this lot is a ticket used at that tournament in Carnoustie in very good condition - he punched hole was in the original design.
This program is in good condition, with slight and expect overall wear closely depicted in the accompanying lot photos. It has been nearly 2 years since we have had this program - representing the greatest year of golf accolades Ben Hogan ever compiled.

Each lot has its own 30 minute countdown clock during extended bidding. The clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. Place your initial bids BEFORE 10pm ET in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you may bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 10pm ET
Extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, and each lot will begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid placed during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you
