Jack Nicklaus 'The Original Response Putter' 20th MI 615 US Pat. 4,693,478
Offered here is a Jack Nicklaus MacGregor 'The Original Response Putter' 20th MI 615 putter. It comes in good condition, showing some wear to the head, measuring 35" to the heel. These were made in tribute to Nicklaus' putters used in winning PGA Tour events, most notably the historic 1986 Masters Tournament. The club's original MacGregor shaft sticker is still intact. The head is an impressive 6" long. John MacGregor and Edward Canby joined forces in 1896 to form "Crawford, MacGregor, & Canby." They became the first American manufacturer of golf clubs. In the 1930's the company was acquired by the Goldsmith Company and shortly there after became just MacGregor. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
