Jack Nicklaus Signed RBS 5 Pound Note with One Unsigned
An item worth more than the £5 note it represents, this lot features a Jack Nicklaus Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) £5 note signed nicely by Nicklaus in black marker. It is uncommon for an American to grace the front of an RBS note, but when you win three British Opens (two at St. Andrews) and become the RBS Ambassador of Golf, exceptions are made. These notes were issued to celebrate the Golden Bear's remarkable career, and it marks the first British banknote to celebrate a living non-royal individual. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
