Jack Nicklaus Signed Personal 'NICKLAUS' Red/White/Grey Ohio State Colors Full Size Golf Bag
Custom golf bags for Jack Nicklaus from Jack Nicklaus don't come around often. Sporting alumni Nicklaus' collegiate Ohio State Buckeyes red, white and silver colorway with the early 2000's (c.2002) Nicklaus Golf Equipment 'in motion' silhouette logo just above Nicklaus' own name identifyer scrolling across the main pocket is this highly prized Golden Bear signed full-size bag that was anything but mass-produced. Just a select amount of these were produced for Nicklaus himself, becoming his bag of choice during the 2002 season comprised of a handful of tournaments between the PGA Tour and Champions Tour. This example was gifted by Nicklaus to our consignor Arthur Hagan who's portfolio included a group of sporting good stores on the West Coast that carried golf equipment, forging a working relationship with Jack Nicklaus and his company Nicklaus Golf Equipment. Hagan was the largest distributor of Nicklaus Golf Equipment in the nation and became close with Nicklaus, enjoying numerous dinners at the 18-time winner's West Palm Beach, Florida house along with meeting him at shows and events. This bag, in which Nicklaus signed in black marker across the top of the red, is photo design-matched to multiple tournaments in the 2002 season including the Memorial Tournament, Champions Tour events such as The Tradition. It remains in excellent condition with very little wear present, enjoyed in a display-only capacity.
