Jack Nicklaus Signed 1973 Panini Campioni Card
As of now, 50 years after this Italian card's release, there have been only 168 graded and a scant 15 of those signed by subject Jack Nicklaus as reported by the PSA population report! This copy, poised to enter that report. carries the often preferred blue Staedtler pen scribe. It pops off of the card, a fine-tip line that captures all the definition in the Golden Bear's formation! Gaining serious steam in the hobby are both scare oddball cards and signed vintage cards of the greats, the latter a longtime 'faux pas' until about five years ago. Before Panini was the brand it is now, it was an Italy-based card (and sticker) manufacturer of primarily soccer. In 1973-74 their Campioni Dello Sport Card set was printed, with the multi-sport set including this Jack Nicklaus entry #375. The card in mint condition without the signature commanded a cool $12k in PWCC's 2021 sale according to the PSA website. Please inspect the accompanying lot photos for the card's condition.
