Jack Nicklaus Match Worn Signed & Inscribed '6-27-89' Pair of White Leather Wingtip Golf Shoes Cleats

Pair of golf shoes sourced to Jack Nicklaus and his specific day of use. They feature traditional brogue wingtip remaining true to the classic era's styling. A fabric label is sewn into the interior side wall of each shoe with the red printed text BOSTONIAN (the known maker of Nicklaus golf shoes in the late 1980's) black printed text FOOTSAVER. The interior leather lining is stamped with the size 9 1/2 D/B and a numerical code 29110. Each shoe features an autograph on the outer heel area signed Jack Nicklaus and is accompanied by his handwritten date 6-27-89. This date Nicklaus appeared in Kansas City for an 18-hole exhibition match with Lee Trevino at Swope Memorial Golf Course. He gifted these shoes post round to our consignor (a local media member and sports collector) that day. Well worn shoes were most likely worn weekend before while Nicklaus finished tenth at the Canadian Open and in all likelihood two weeks earlier at the U.S. Open held June 15-18. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and handwriting on both shoes finding each to be in the hand of Jack Nicklaus.
