Jack Nicklaus Bust Sculpture by Artist Theodore Potter on Plinth
One of just five Jack Nicklaus bust sculptures crafted by artist Theodore Potter out of Northeast United States. The others? It's purported that the Nicklaus family and Muirfield Village each owned one. With a stern look of concentration on his face, as he exhibited much of his on-course time during Nicklaus' record 18 major championship run, Nicklaus is portrayed from the collar up with his patented hair falling just as it did. Maryland native Potter was commissioned to complete works of world's leading figures during the 1980's, including the likes of Ronald Reagan for the Republican Party (1981-89) and Pope John Paul II (1978-2005) for the Vatican. This rendering of The Golden Bear in his prime, signed and dated by the artist Potter just below - believed to be 1983. This plaster composition measures 4" x 4" x 10 1/2" on clean square plinth.
