Jack Grout Signed Handwritten Letter to Alex Morrison w/Envelope
Jack Grout and Jack Nicklaus enhanced each others career, with Grout teaching Nicklaus to 18 major championships. Grout's blue ballpoint signature here is far less than common, concluding a handwritten letter to fellow instructor Alex Morrison dated April 15, 1944. This letter references 'Pic' right away, of course Masters Champion, but also head professional at Hershey Country Club while Grout was assistant. He mentions his new position at the Jewish club at Green Acres in Northbrook, Ill. Grout goes on to mention that he will play in two (PGA) tournaments both the Victory (likely Texas) and the Tam O' Shanter. In the WWII time-period letter from one golf legend to another, Grout mentions that he could use six copies of Morrison's book.
