J. Anderson Longnose Splice Neck Baffing Spoon w/LS Stamp on Crown & Brass Plate
Here is the work of renown St Andrews clubmaker Jamie Anderson. Anderson produced a successful playing career as he won the Open Championship on three occasions, all consecutive from 1877 until 1879. This Jamie Anderson long nose driver is a fine example. It shows the underlisting as its leather grip has worn off. Slightly concave face, there is a lead weight inserted in the back of the head which is intact. Affixed to the sole is a brass insert by seven screws. 'L.S. is found above the J.Anderson crown stamp.
