Horton Smith Signed 1963 'How To Solve Your Golf Problems' 1st Ed Book by Smith & others
This dated his final year of life, Horton Smith (1908-1963) was the first Masters champion, multi-champ and also the first to pass. This chain of events left his signature among the toughest to obtain when putting together a full run of champ signatures from 1934 to present. A premium is attached to an item of quality, this being a golf instructional book from his final days in 1963 in which he contributed along with fellow stars including Byron Nelson and Jackie Burke. On the white of the inside front cover comes the thoughtful missive to a man he thought highly of. 'To Vince - the greatest commissioner of the modern golf swing - beware of paralysis by over-analysis - and best wishes - Horton Smith - 1963.' Included is the original book dustjacket protecting and accessorizing the hardcover book that remains in very good condition. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
