Gene Sarazen's Personal PGA World Golf Hall of Fame Pin
This World Golf Hall of Fame pin once belonged to inaugural class inductee Golfer Gene Sarazen. Given by the PGA to the World Golf Hall of Famers while the HOF was in Pinehurst under the PGA Gene was presented this specific pin that is consigned by his daughter Mary Ann Sarazen. The Squire won won 38 PGA Tour events and beat Bobby Jones in the 1922 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club by 1 stroke. His most memorable shot was the double eagle on the 15th hole at Augusta National in the 1935 Masters which forced a 36 hole playoff and victory over Craig Wood. He has seven (7) majors to his credit, including the 1932 British Open, and won the career grand slam - a rare feat accomplished by only a handful of players (Nicklaus, Player, Woods, Jones).
