Gene Sarazen Signed Personal Used Wilson Full Size Golf Bag
Inked by Gene Sarazen and directly from The Squire's estate comes his personal signature red and white 'Wilson Test Hit Demo Clubs' branded full size bag. Sarazen's remarkable 75-year relationship with the company was the longest-running contract in sports history and lasting until his passing in 1999. The Wilson-Sarazen relationship predated his 1935 Masters Double Eagle and was in place for each of his Masters Tournament Honorary Starter drives with fellow staffers and past champions Sam Snead and Byron Nelson. Sarazen would win the first seven of eight major championships using Wilson irons, decades before Arnold Palmer's 1958 Masters triumph. This clean bag, with a slightly lighter signature, is adorned with gold tone zippers, buckles and accessories and has no blemishing to speak of as depicted in the accompanying lot photos. A signed letter of provenance from Mary Ann Sarazen will come with this lot.
