Gary Player Signed 2013 Callaway Masters Starter Golf Bag w/Years Won & '2013 Honorary Starter'
Confirming the photo-match, Gary Player didn't simply sign his name and add his three years of Masters victory, but confirmed this indeed was the bag he used with camera's all around on the Masters first tee adding '2013 Honorary Starter' in unimprovable silver marker on the green of the main pocket. In 2012. three years after playing his record 52nd and final time as a contestant, Gary Player received a promotion to join Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus in the ceremonial opening tee shots as an Honorary Starter at The Masters. The second year with the honor in 2013, Gary Player is pictured with this bag standing next to friends during the great tradition, fellow Masters Tournament Honorary Starters and members of The Big Three: Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer alongside their caddy's in the final photo of this lot. The Black Knight's Masters green and white Callaway bag with Gary's SAP sponsor logo is just to his right, not far from then fellow Callaway golfer Arnold Palmer bag (also with the company's Masters-specific bag design that even includes 'April 2013' embroidered into base). A lot has happened since this picture twelve years ago, sadly losing The King in 2016, but Gary Player and The Big Three's impact on The Masters and golf remains strong and always will. That prized 'gamer' that held The Black Knight's clubs during the 2013 Masters Tournament Honorary Start he shared with Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus is showcased here.
