Frank Stranahan's 1950 Kansas City Open Low Amateur Sterling Plated Ice Bucket
The 1950 Kansas City open was the second edition of what became a yearly visit to Kansas City by the PGA Tour. The 1950 event was staged at Milburn C.C. As was so often the case in the early 1950's, Lloyd Mangrum was the overall champion of the event and the 'Toledo Strongman' Frank Stranahan was was the Low Amateur scorer. For his efforts at the tournament, Stranahan received the ice bucket offered in this lot carrying the following inscription:
