Frank Chirkinian's 2007 Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame Award - Masters Producer
The late Frank Chirkinian of CBS Each end measures began the telecast of The Masters Tournament in 1959 with limited resources consisting of stationary cameras, black and white picture production and microphones that were few and far between. "Frank is universally regarded as the father of golf television," co-worker and supporter Jim Nantz said when asked about Chirkinian. "He invented it, He took a sport that no one knew how to televise and made it interesting. He brought the Masters tournament to life." He would would being it to life for four decades. Chirkinian passed away in 2011, just prior to receiving his World Golf Hall of Fame induction for Lifetime Achievement. He was however able to receive his Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame Award four years earlier as seen in photo 8 with him holding it shortly after receiving. That very award lies in this lot, with a class geometrical pattern that spared no expense. It contains 2007 Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame Frank Chirkinian" on the broadside of the 12 total sides. CBS continues to broadcast The Masters Tournament and looks to do so for the foreseeable future with much thanks to their long-time executive producer Frank Chirkinian. 3/4" x 1 3/4" and the award 10" tall

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
