Francis Ouimet Signed Original George Pietzcker Photo of Francis Ouimet & Wife
An incredibly rare photographic artifact, this 5"x 8" framed to 14 1/2 x 17 1/2" original depicts Francis Ouimet (Hall of Famer and U.S. Open Champion at 20 years old). This image comes from the brillant photographic eye of George Sealy Pietzecker, who rose to fame chronicling Ouimet's win at the 1913 U.S. Open. He received his acclaim for his works great clarity of focus and presentation of golf's greatest stars as the official photographer of the United States Golf Association. Any Pietzecker originals are extremely desirable and scarce in our hobby. The reknonwed chronicler of the country's national championship and champions, Pietzecker had his early studio in St. Louis when this image dates to. In the mid-1930's, he would relocate his studio to Miami Beach. Beautiful Ex/Mint condition is present on this framed treasure. The fact that this example is vintage fountain pen signed by Francis Ouimet, with an early image of the United States first golfing hero makes this a very important collectible. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this autograph and their document of authenticity will come with this lot.
