Francis Ouimet Signed Francis Ouimet Caddie Scholarship Fund Appreciation Print - Framed
Its no surprise that the original painting of this Francis Ouimet signed print is proudly exhibited at the Royal & Ancient clubhouse in St. Andrews in which he was appointed the captain of in 1951. The spot on artist depiction of Francis Ouimet outfitted in his medaled formal Captain's red coat, white bowtie and waistcoat was also used on the 1963 US Open program cover, celebrating the 50th anniversary that was played at Brookline. Honoring T. Edmund Garrity specifically is this Francis Ouimet signed print in appreciation for his outstanding support of the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund. Research into this award yielded an additional example of this handwritten calligraphy award that was presented to Herbert Jaques Jr. with himportantly both different (live) handwriting as well as black ink signature from Francis Ouimet. Creating one of the most storied victories in golf history, Ouimet was triumphant at his home course of The Country Club as Brookline. Famously employing his 10-year old caddy Eddie Lowery, images of that victory have been used for many USGA advertising campaigns, including their 1995 Centennial celebration. The Francis Ouimet Caddie Scholarship Fund was founded in 1949 and benefits those who work at golf course and clubs in Massachusetts.
