Francis Ouimet Signed 1960 'Golf is My Game' Book by Robert Tyre Jones
Deserving recipient of the moniker "Father of Amateur Golf" and winner of the 1913 US Open at Country Club, Brookline's own Francis Ouimet penned his name on the title page of this Bobby Jones first edition 'Golf is My Game' hardcover book from 1960. Bob Jones as previously mention by Ouimet in a letter that we offered as "one of (his) closest friends." These were two of the finest amateur golfers the sport has ever seen, both US Amateur and US Open champions and World Golf Hall of Famers among many other golf and sport-specific accolades. This book connects the two once again, Ouimet signing in his patented green hue seven years prior to his passing to friend Frank Cravers. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
