Francis Ouimet Signed 1949 Index Card w/Photo Display
Deserving recipient of the moniker "Father of Amateur Golf" and winner of the 1913 US Open at Country Club, Brookline's own Francis Ouimet penned his name in his patented green ink as well as dated it 10/25/49. It was 36 years after his 1913 US Open David over Goliath victory on his home course and 18 years following his second major at he 1931 US Amateur. This professionally matted and framed presentation offers a post-swing black and white visual of Ouimet who passed in 1967, with the depicted golf hero's signature just below. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
