Findlay Douglas Signed GPC - 1898 US Amateur Champ

Maybe you recognize Findlay Douglas as part of the 1910 Mecca T218 Champions golf card set. Others might know him from career-defining feat when Findlay Douglas won the US Amateur in 1898 Morris County Golf Club 5 & 3 over Walter Smith. For the first time we offer his signature, a strong time-period scribe from the 30th anniversary of the USGA triumph. 'National Amateur Golf Champion 1898' was written in the hand of trailblazing through-the-mail autograph collector named Nathan Mindel out of Baltimore on the verso of this Government Postcard in 1928 with or without the foresight of Douglas' signature becoming exceedingly rare. 'Findlay S. Douglas' is signed in a large, complete penning finished off with an underscore starting at the final S. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
