Detroit Golf Club 1913 Winner's Sterling Silver Overlay Decanter - Edwin B. Palmer
This decanter dates to be over 100 years old and was presented to the Detroit Golf Club Spring Tournament club winner Edwin B. Palmer. The spherical clear glass decanter depicts multiple scenes in sterling silver overlay. Divided into two sides, the design of a dressed up time-period golfer addressing his ball perched on what appears to be a sand tee and his caddie in the background takes place on one side. It's reverse features a towering clubhouse, with a putting golfer going for a flagstick in the foreground. Established in 1899, this private club was a Donald Ross design. Horton Smith was the Club Professional at the Detroit Golf Club in 1945, until his passing in 1963. Etched in script writing is the following:

7" tall with a 6" diameter. There is a 2" crack in the glass that stems from the sterling silver bottom handle. There is a cork on the spout.

This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, August 4th with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
